Job Details:

• Coordinate nursing care for Emergency Department patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric
• Plan, implement, and evaluate all levels of patient care across the illness-to-wellness continuum
• Perform age-appropriate assessments and provide safe and effective care to all patient ages
• Conduct triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level triage process
• Document patient care using medical terminology, maintaining ED records that are medically and legally acceptable
• Coordinate care needs of multiple patients simultaneously, prioritizing to ensure timely and quality care delivery
• Monitor life support and automated technical equipment and perform routine and complex treatments including medication administration and emergency resuscitation protocols
• Insert and safely administer IV fluids, blood and blood products, and other parenteral fluids
• Collaborate with providers, peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to provide efficient and effective patient care
• Respond to crises in a calm, efficient manner and appropriately delegate tasks as needed
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring checklists are completed and rooms are stocked before leaving each shift
• Comply with legal consent, transfer protocols, and other legislative requirements to preserve patient rights
• Participate in providing educational experiences for pre-hospital emergency providers and other students
• 2+ years of relevant emergency nursing experience required
• Two-year degree in nursing required; four-year degree preferred
• Wisconsin Registered Nursing license or active Compact Licensure required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC; ATCN preferred
