ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week contract position with an ASAP start date of July 6, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts per week
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (except during unit closures)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation
• On-call requirement: 12 hours in a 6-week period with 30-minute response time; 2-hour minimum call back

Role Details

You will work in an 18-bed Emergency Department with stroke certification. Your primary location is Wausau, with potential float assignments to Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley. Patient ratios are typically 3–4 patients per nurse in a fast-paced environment. You will draw labs, perform nebulizer treatments, and manage tasks independently while adapting to changing conditions.

The unit serves cardiac, neuro, pediatric, geriatric, and respiratory patients. Trauma Level II experience is required.

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS (ARC or AHA)
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience; at least 1 year travel nursing experience (firm)
• Trauma Level II experience required
• EPIC charting experience
• Pyxis medication dispenser experience
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,300.40

Any scrub color is acceptable.
