ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel contract running from September 21, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, primarily nights (11:00 PM to 11:00 AM), with occasional flexibility to 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• On-call requirement: 12 hours in a 6-week period with 30-minute response time; 2-hour call back minimum
• Weekly pay: $2,325.96

About the Department

You will work in a Trauma Level II, 18-bed emergency department with stroke certification and capabilities in cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory care. This is a fast-paced environment with a 3–4 patient ratio per nurse. Respiratory therapy and X-ray staff are on site in the ED.

Responsibilities

• Drawing labs and administering nebulizer treatments
• Charting in Epic electronic health record system
• Medication management using Pyxis medication dispenser
• May float to other locations including Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley

Requirements

• Current WI RN License
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS (ARC or AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• At least 3–6 months of prior travel nursing experience (firm requirement)
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred
