ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This is a 13-week contract position starting August 31, 2026, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week at $2,546 weekly pay.

Schedule and Location

• 3 x 12-hour night shifts
• Shift times: 5:00 AM–5:00 PM, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, or 11:00 AM–11:00 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Primary placement in an 18-bed Trauma Level II emergency department
• May float to other locations including Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley
• On-call possibility (requested in advance, rarely occurs)

Role Responsibilities

• Fast-paced environment with 3–4 patients per nurse
• Draw labs and administer nebulizer treatments
• Utilize Pyxis medication dispensers
• Support stroke, cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory cases
• Work with on-site respiratory therapy and X-ray staff

Requirements

• WI RN License, BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS (ARC or AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel healthcare experience preferred; if none, 2 years of Trauma Level I or II experience required
• EPIC electronic charting experience required
• Associate degree or certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Any color scrubs are permitted. Respiratory therapy and X-ray support are available on-site in the ED.
