ED - Emergency Room

Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Self-scheduling available for days and nights
• Patient ratio of 1 to 4
• Emergency department sees 80-90 patients per day
• Care for patients in a 24-bed emergency department with 3 trauma bays
• Fast track and separate triage area available with occasional triage responsibilities
• ER holds are intermixed within the department
• Common diagnoses include trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac conditions
• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting ECG rhythms independently (no monitor techs)
• Charting completed in Paragon EMR system
• Respiratory therapy handles vents, CPAP, BiPap, high flow equipment, and ABGs
• CT and X-ray located adjacent to the emergency department
• Blood draws performed by tech or RN
• Floating to qualified units may be required
• Navy scrubs required
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC
