Med Surg RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio is seeking a Medical-Surgical RN for a 13-week contract assignment on the Orthopedics unit. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), with 36 guaranteed hours weekly and no on-call requirements.

Role Details:

• Provide direct patient care on an orthopedic surgical unit
• Support procedures including total knee and hip replacements, incision and drainage (I&D), and pre- and post-operative care
• Document patient information in the Meditech system
• Float to other units as needed per facility policy
• Work a rotating weekend schedule with two major holidays during the assignment

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses no longer accepted)
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2+ years of Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Orthopedic experience preferred
• Minimal wound care experience required
• Familiarity with Meditech preferred

Dress Code and Appearance Standards:

• Navy scrub top and pants with navy or white scrub jacket
• Clean and healthy nails
• Neat, clean hair with no extreme styles or colors
• Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Body art should be covered whenever possible
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

Assignment begins October 6, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,708.20. This is a full-time contract position offering predictable scheduling and the opportunity to deepen your orthopedic nursing skills in a structured hospital environment.
