PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in a mixed surgical PCU and medical-surgical unit
• May float to other units on campus, including 3 additional units plus an overflow and an OBS unit
• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure completion within appropriate timeframes
• Review diagnostic and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care including discharge planning based on patient-specific needs
• Provide direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and in a timely manner in the patient record
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and contribute to the education and orientation of facility personnel
• Actively participate in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes
• Must have previous travel experience to be considered
• Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting required
• Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area
• Current, valid RN license in state of practice required
• BLS certification required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
