RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Night shift position on a 28-bed 3rd floor Surgical Care Unit (Med/Surg)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Weekend requirement of 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Holiday requirement applies
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Care for post-surgical patients with drains, chest tubes, and pain management needs
• General med/surg experience required; experience with surgical population preferred
• Required to titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• Unit is monitored by tele techs in a central monitoring room
• Nurse aides available on the unit
• RT equipment includes nasal cannula up to 6L, CPAP, and BiPAP (night use only)
• May be asked to float within Zone 3 or into other acuity levels including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele as determined by Nurse Manager
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• Must be in state for the week of orientation
• Must reside outside of a 60-mile radius; valid driver's license must be submitted
