ED Registered Nurse Job in Albany, GA

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Room in Albany, GA. You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with every other weekend and holiday coverage required. This assignment runs for 168 weeks, starting August 31, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,197.

Clinical Environment

You will manage a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a high-volume ED handling approximately 180–200 patient visits daily. Patient cases span pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and neurological conditions. The department operates a 6-bed behavioral lockdown unit with seclusion capabilities, staffed by psychiatry personnel.

Responsibilities and Support

• Perform your own lab draws and IV starts
• Manage ventilator patients held in the ER until admission, with 24/7 respiratory therapist coverage
• Access dedicated central monitoring tech for telemetry and patient monitoring
• Collaborate with nurse aides and paramedics (5–6 available per shift)
• Work with security and patient sitters; safety sitters provided as needed

Systems and Requirements

Charting occurs via MEDITECH 6.15. You will complete 2 shifts of floor-specific orientation during week one. Automatic lunch deductions apply, and Caribbean Blue scrubs are required. The cancellation policy allows 12 hours off every 2 weeks.

Qualifications

You must hold current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and either NIHSS or ASLS certification. You are required to have 5 or more years of nursing experience and at least 1 prior travel assignment. MEDITECH experience is mandatory. A BSN is not required.
