ED - Emergency Room

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work mid shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hours guaranteed per week
• 13-week contract
• Weekends required; scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Every other holiday required
• Unable to approve time off around Labor Day
• Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
• Patient ratios of 4-5 patients across days, nights, and weekends
• Care for patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Work in a 71-bed/room emergency department with a daily census of 165 visits
• Treat patients with diagnoses including Level I Trauma, Comprehensive Stroke, and Chest Pain (STEMI)
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Must have triage experience and be proficient with Level I and Level II Trauma Centers
• Experience with pediatric patients required (does not need to be in a dedicated pediatric ER)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Must have at least 1 year of Level I trauma facility experience or 2 years of Level II trauma facility experience
• Epic charting system experience required
• Virginia nursing license required; pending licenses accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (TNCC pending accepted but must be obtained before start)
• BSN preferred
• Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed
