PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• Serves adult and geriatric patient population with a daily census of 27
• Hospitalist PCU with primary Pulmonary/GI focus; no ventilator beds on this unit
• May work without CNA support
• Floating required within skillset to other PCU or medical-surgical units
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; previous charge experience preferred
• Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown settings required
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care required
• Common IV medications include Cardizem drips (no titration), insulin drip protocol, heparin drip protocol, and amiodarone
• Respiratory support skills required: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management
• Experience with rapid response/code teams and isolation precautions required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
