PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Blocked scheduling available upon request
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5; must be comfortable with a 1:5 ratio
• Care for adult patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, and medical overflow
• Unit includes 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring
• Required to float to units within clinical skillset
• EPIC charting experience required
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams
• Administer IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and manage central and peripheral line care
• Administer medications and cardiac drips (no titration required)
• Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Maintain isolation precautions as required
• 1 year of experience required; previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required
