PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, caring for adult patients with neurological conditions including neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and neuro-specific diagnoses. The 20-bed unit includes 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring.

Schedule and Commitment

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Block scheduling available upon request; submit all scheduling requests with your application
• 91-day contract starting August 31, 2026

Clinical Responsibilities

• Patient ratio of 1:4–5 (you must be comfortable managing a 1:5 ratio)
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Emergency response including Rapid Response and Code team participation
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care
• Medication and cardiac drip administration (no titration required)
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions as required
• Float to units within your clinical skillset as needed

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Weekly pay is $2,337. You'll work in a facility equipped with modern systems and a structured team environment. Apply with any scheduling requests noted.
