PCU Registered Nurse Job in Richmond, VA

VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Main 11 West Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12 night shifts at $2,354 weekly.

About the Role:

• Staff a 34-bed progressive care unit with 6 progressive and 15 total telemetry patients
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Manage patients with stroke, seizures, dementia, neuromuscular disorders, and head/neck/back trauma
• Support primary services: Neurology, Neurosurgery, and ENT
• Care for neurosurgery patients undergoing elective procedures and trauma cases
• Support ENT patients with radical neck surgery related to trauma or cancer
• Provide care for stable ventilator patients within progressive care scope
• Float within scope as needed
• Additional services include surgery trauma, orthopedics, general surgery, and medicine

Unit Details:

• Self-scheduling model with weekend coverage required every other weekend
• 24-hour orientation period
• 2 holidays required per contract
• EPIC charting system

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Telemetry expertise
• BLS certification
• Valid Virginia or compact state RN license at time of submission
• EPIC charting experience (no exceptions)

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN degree
• Trauma Level I experience
