About this role

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel position in Albany, Georgia. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on a 119-day contract starting August 31, 2026, earning $2,021.76 per week.

Position Overview

You will manage 13–15 patients per shift, completing an average of 550 minutes of respiratory treatments. Your responsibilities include airway management, ventilator management, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP and CPAP support, ABG collection, and bedside pulmonary function testing. In critical care assignments, you will place A-lines, perform intubations and bronchoscopies, and manage up to 4 airways per therapist using Servo ventilators (U and I models).

Schedule & Requirements

You will work either a Monday–Thursday or Friday–Sunday team with rotating hours and every-other holiday rotation with permanent staff. No call responsibilities. Clock-in window is 6:38 PM to 6:46 PM. You must work within a strict 75-mile radius and wear ceil blue scrubs and jacket only.

Qualifications

  • Current RRT certification with Georgia state license
  • Minimum 2 years critical care experience and 1 prior travel contract
  • Experience in a 300+ bed facility
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (NRP if assigned to NICU)
  • Comfortable with intubating patients as a first-line responder

Patient Population & Clinical Skills

You will treat adult and pediatric patients with COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancers. You must be comfortable managing high and heavy workloads in critical care environments and proficient with the Meditech EMR system.

Orientation

Your first week includes hospital orientation and charting training. Your treatment load will progress from 300 to 400 to 550 minutes during the orientation period. Critical care assignments include an additional week of specialized orientation. Floor assignments require a minimum of 1 year experience; critical care requires a minimum of 2 years experience.
