NICU RN Job in Richmond, VA

You will provide direct care to neonatal patients in the NICU at VCU Medical Center, working 3x12 night shifts. This is a 91-day travel nursing assignment starting September 14, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,268.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Care for neonatal patients including premature and seriously ill infants from the edge of viability through discharge preparation
• Manage skilled procedures including administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, central line care, bubble CPAP, high frequency ventilation, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring and neonatal dosage calculations
• Manage UAC/UVC care, phototherapy, and developmental care
• Provide clinical support for neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal sepsis, and feedings (bottle, breast, gavage)
• Float within scope as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Virginia nursing license or compact state license
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• Epic charting system experience (no exceptions)
• BSN preferred
• 2 references required at time of submission

Assignment Details:

• 36-hour orientation period
• Self-scheduling with weekend coverage required
• Natural nail policy in effect
• One instance of pre-approved time off allowed; no time off during the first week
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
