RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with a 3x12 schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Guaranteed hours included
• Patient ratios of 1:3-5
• Float within service line as needed
• No on-call required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must have experience with Epic charting system - required, no exceptions
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Patient diagnoses include: Acute Renal Failure, Pneumonia, Acute Pancreatitis, UTI, Encephalopathy/Cirrhosis, Sickle Cell Pain Crisis, Chest Pain, COPD, Asthma Acute Exacerbation, Syncope/Collapse, Diabetes Type I, and Ketoacidosis
• Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Chest tubes, Colostomy/Ileostomy management, Feeding tube care and management, Heparin, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Insulin, Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV Insulin Protocols, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, PCA, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, and Wound Care/Wound Vac
• Common procedures include lab blood draws, POC blood glucose, EKG, peritoneal dialysis, MRI, swallow evaluations, endoscopy/colonoscopy, and 2D echo/venous doppler
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
