Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on the Med Surg unit in Saint Louis, Missouri. You will work the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule, with every other weekend required. There are no on-call requirements for this position.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care to a 30-bed surgical unit serving patients with general surgery, GI, GU, Plastics, and Overflow Ortho needs. Your responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process. You will coordinate care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes. Patient ratios are 1:6–7 on night shift. You may be floated to other units depending on staffing needs.

Equipment and Systems

You will work with specialized equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps, wound vacs, SCD machines, PCA pumps, low air loss mattresses, and remote telemetry monitors. The facility uses EPIC as its EMR system.

Requirements

• Active Missouri RN license
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg inpatient experience
• BLS certification from AHA (required)
• ACLS and TNCC from AHA (preferred)
• Patient-focused approach and strong team collaboration

What We Offer

You will earn $2,115 per week with 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week. Scrubs must be black Mercy M Wear only. The 13-week assignment begins July 27, 2026.
