Med Surg RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced RN for a 91-day travel assignment on a 23-bed Ortho/Trauma unit. You will work four 12-hour day shifts per week (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), with 48 hours guaranteed per week and three weekend shifts per schedule period.

Your Role:

• Care for post-operative orthopedic patients, including those recovering from knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
• Manage trauma and neurology overflow patients
• Work with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Operate specialized equipment including traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Document patient care using the Meditech system
• Implement patient experience standards, including bedside shift report and hourly rounding

Unit Support: You will have a Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians to support your workflow. As contract labor, you will be first to float to other Med/Surg level of care units, including General Med/Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma as needed.

Requirements:

• Active RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Navy scrubs (required dress code)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Orthopedic nursing experience
• Telemetry knowledge
• NIH stroke scale certification

This assignment begins December 14, 2026, and offers weekly pay of $2,628. You will have access to unit support staff and equipment designed to facilitate efficient patient care on a busy orthopedic and trauma service.
