Med Surg RN Job in Columbia, MO

You will work as an RN on a 32-bed general medical inpatient unit at Boone Health in Columbia, Missouri. This is a night shift position with a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with the possibility of accepting up to 8 patients when needed.

Shift and Duration

• Schedule: 3x12 nights
• Contract length: 91 days
• Start date: November 2, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,433

Role Expectations

Floating to other Med Surg areas is required. Prior travel nursing experience is required—first-time travelers are not accepted. You must provide current CEU documentation during the interview process. Be aware that travelers may be downstaffed 36 to 48 hours within a 13-week contract based on weekly scheduling needs.

Common Patient Diagnoses and Conditions

• Respiratory conditions (pneumonia)
• Renal conditions (end stage renal disease, UTI)
• Endocrine conditions (diabetes)
• Gastrointestinal conditions (GI bleed, pancreatitis)
• Dementia and altered mental status
• Infectious diseases (MRSA, C-diff)

Equipment and Technology

You will work with IV pumps, bladder scanners, lifts, beds, oxygen delivery systems, CPAP, and HEPA machines.

Required Clinical Skills

• IV insertion
• CPAP/BiPAP management
• Feeding tube management
• Wound vac care

Preferred Clinical Skills

• PICC and central line management
• Vascular device access and care
• Dialysis fistula care and management
• Epidural and PCA pump management
