Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on an ENT and Plastic Surgery unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a 3x12 shift schedule working nights, earning $2,432 per week.

Role Details

• Provide direct patient care on a specialized ENT and Plastic Surgery unit
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend required; no on-call
• Will float within service line to meet facility needs
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract; cancelled shifts are the regular assigned length

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (1+ year acceptable with Level I or Teaching Facility experience)
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Telemetry experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; BSN preferred
• Epic charting system experience required

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Care for patients with cuffed/cuffless tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, carotid blowout precautions, and free flap patients
• Perform drain care, free flap monitoring, tracheostomy and total laryngectomy care, tube feeding, wound care, phlebotomy, IV access, and central line management
• Administer blood products, draw from central lines, manage colostomy/ileostomy, provide feeding tube care, manage heparin and insulin, apply isolation precautions, operate PCAs, manage PICC lines and peripheral lines, monitor telemetry, and use rapid response/code teams

Support & Standards

• Interdisciplinary support available: IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams
• Wear navy blue scrubs
• Maximum 7 days requested time off per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of assignment
