Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Medical Surgical unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 23, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 4x12 nights
• 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio: 1:4–5

Compensation

• Weekly pay: $2,432

Role Details

You will care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including infection, renal, cardiac, pulmonary, oncology, orthopedic, bariatric, pre-transplant, observation, psychology, and long-stay cases. High patient turnover is expected; you may work with many patients in a single shift. You will float within the service line to meet facility needs.

Required Skills and Certifications

• ACLS and BLS certification required
• Relias EKG exam required; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Telemetry, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, wound care and wound vac, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, heparin, PCA, peripheral line care, and dysrhythmia management

Preferred Qualification

• CPI certification preferred

Experience

1–2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted.

Equipment and Resources

You will use Alaris pumps, CPAPs, BIPAPs, bladder scanners, lifts, hover mats, EKGs, and scales. Required training will be provided to care for a variety of patients including those with tracheostomies. Interdisciplinary support is available through IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
