About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a Medical Surgical unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 28, 2026, with 4x12-hour day shifts. You will earn $2,411 weekly with guaranteed hours available at 36 or 48 hours per week.

Your Role

You will care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including geriatric trauma, acute care surgery, and trauma from abuse, violence, motor vehicle accidents, and falls. Patient ratios are 1:4–6. You will float within the service line as needed and work every other weekend. No on-call is required, and you may take a maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5 years of nursing experience and previous travel experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Must pass Relias EKG exam—Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias
  • Proficiency in Med/Surg nursing, blood product administration, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, insulin administration, PCA pumps, and wound care
  • Experience with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and level 1 trauma
  • Competency with special equipment including lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators
  • Epic charting system experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPI, NIHSS, or TNCC certifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous charge nurse experience

Facility Support

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy. Wear navy blue scrubs. Patient diagnoses commonly come from the ED, OR, or ICU.
