Med Surg RN Job in Independence, MO

You will work as an RN on the 6th Floor Med-Surg/Oncology unit at Centerpoint Medical Center MO. This 36-bed unit serves patients with medical-surgical, oncology, and hospice needs, as well as hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions.

Position Details:

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, four 12-hour days per week
• Assignment: 91-day contract starting December 14, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,370
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Every third weekend required; no on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to Med-Surg, Oncology, and Hospice patients
• Monitor hemodynamically stable cardiac patients
• Float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed (Med-Surg level patients)
• Perform wound vac changes, drain removal, IV/PICC line placement, Foley insertion and removal, and NG tube insertion and removal
• Collaborate with Clinical Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretary

Equipment & Systems:

• Work with I-med, I-mobile, Neurolog vitals machine, Glucometer, PCA pumps, Wound Vac, Chest Tubes, and Surgical Drains
• Document in Meditech system

Requirements:

• Current BLS certification
• RN degree
• Team-oriented approach with positive attitude
• Patient-centered care philosophy
• Ability to maintain productivity in a busy environment
• Pewter (gray) scrubs required for all nursing staff
