Med-Surg RN Job in Independence, Missouri

Join Centerpoint Medical Center as a Medical-Surgical RN on our 6th Floor Med-Surg/Oncology unit in the Main Hospital building. This is a 91-day travel assignment offering four 12-hour night shifts per week (7 PM–7 AM), with 48 guaranteed hours weekly.

Unit Overview

• 36-bed Med-Surg/Oncology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Patient population includes Med-Surg, Oncology, and Hospice patients, plus hemodynamically stable cardiac monitoring patients
• Floating to Med-Surg and Telemetry units (Med-Surg level patients) is required
• Every third weekend required; no on-call responsibilities

Your Team

You'll work alongside Clinical Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and a Unit Secretary to deliver coordinated patient care.

Clinical Skills & Equipment

You'll manage a range of procedures and equipment including Wound Vac changes, drain removal, IV/PICC line insertion, Foley insertion and removal, NG insertion and removal, chest tubes, and surgical drains. Required equipment includes I-med, I-mobile, Neurona vitals machine, Glucometer, and PCA pumps. Documentation occurs in Meditech.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification required

Assignment Details

Start date: December 14, 2026. Weekly pay: $2,360. This role offers the opportunity to build experience in medical-surgical and oncology nursing within a structured hospital setting.
