Vascular Tech - Angiography

Job Details:

• Work 5 days per week with an estimated 8 hours per week
• Assist the cardiologist in performing all aspects of invasive procedures including right heart monitoring, myoendocardial biopsies, left heart catheterizations, and interventional procedures
• Enter patient information into Cath Lab computer system and document all parts of the procedure in the Cath Lab hemodynamic system
• Monitor patients throughout the procedure including pre and post procedure care
• Communicate vital patient information to physician including blood pressure and heart rhythms
• Operate equipment appropriate for procedures including fluoroscopy equipment, film processor and/or filmless system, defibrillator, monitoring equipment, and interventional devices
• Prepare trays and room for procedures
• Prepare patient for procedure, explain procedure, and provide procedure instructions
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to cardiac patients
• Support information gathering for research patients
• Aid in the transport of patients to and from the Cath Lab to expedite timely department operations
• Completion of an accredited technical program required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• ECMO experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology or ARRT Certificate, or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound, PA Act 34
• ACLS preferred but not required
