Job Details:

• Work 4 ten-hour daylight shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with one day off during the week
• On-call requirements include 1-2 weekdays from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM and every 3rd weekend from Friday 5:30 PM to Monday 6:30 AM
• Must be able to respond and arrive to the cath lab within 30 minutes of an emergent patient on-call page activation
• Will work directly with Interventional Cardiologists and serve as the 3rd person on a 3-member on-call team
• Primary duties include physician scrub-assist, fluoroscopy operation, equipment and device preparation using sterile and clean technique, and patient procedure prep
• Assist cardiologist in performing all aspects of invasive procedures including right heart monitoring, myoendocardial biopsies, left heart catheterizations, and interventional procedures
• Enter patient information into Cath Lab computer system and document all parts of the procedure in the Cath Lab hemodynamic system
• Monitor patients throughout procedure including pre and post procedure care
• Communicate vital patient information to physician including blood pressure and heart rhythms
• Operate equipment appropriate for procedure including fluoroscopy equipment, film processor, filmless system, defibrillator, monitoring equipment, and interventional devices
• Prepare trays, room, and patient for procedures while explaining procedures and providing instructions
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to cardiac patients
• Aid in the transport of patients to and from the Cath Lab to expedite timely department operations
• Completion of an accredited technical program required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certification: ARRT or RCIS
• Scrubs provided in Navy Blue by the facility
