CVOR Technologist Job in Asheville, NC

You'll support cardiothoracic surgical cases as a Certified Surgical Technologist in the CV PreOp unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville. This is a 182-day travel position offering continuity in a specialized environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes.

Schedule and Compensation

• Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM (4x10 days)
• On-call requirements: staying late 1–2 times per week
• Weekly pay: $2,336
• Start date: November 2, 2026

Your Role

You'll work in a 4-bed CV PreOp unit located in the Heart Tower building, maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio. Your responsibilities include performing large-bore IV starts, complete hair removal preparation, medication administration, and comprehensive skin assessments. You'll assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement; transport patients to the OR; and support induction, intubation, positioning, and skin prep procedures.

You'll document all care using the Cerner electronic health record system and demonstrate proficiency with BCMA. Equipment you'll use includes GE Carescape Monitoring and Fuji ultrasound systems. A floating policy applies within your scope of practice and experience.

What We're Looking For

• Critical care experience required; PreOp experience is a plus
• Current BLS certification
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent documentation skills
• Strong communication and collaboration with interdepartmental teams
