PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

Join Summit Medical Center as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with every other weekend required. Weekly pay is $2,067, and you'll begin on July 27, 2026.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 on night shifts
• Perform every 2-hour rounding on nights and maintain communication boards following AIDET standards
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
• Document all care using the Meditech system
• Perform clinical procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, NG/Dobhoff tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting

Required Clinical Skills & Experience:

• EKG rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip administration
• BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Tube feeding and NG/Dobhoff tube management
• Peripheral IV insertion

Equipment You'll Use:

• BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm
• Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips
• Peritoneal dialysis systems and wound vacs

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Critical thinking skills and strong clinical judgment
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Black scrubs required per dress code

Scheduling is self-directed within 4-week schedule blocks, giving you flexibility while meeting operational needs. You'll be part of a team focused on delivering excellent patient care in a progressive care setting.
