PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee. This 91-day travel assignment offers $1,891 weekly pay and begins September 21, 2026.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Perform hourly rounding and document using the Meditech system
• Manage equipment including BiPAPs, high-flow O₂, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vacs
• Conduct EKG rhythm interpretation and deliver patient care following AIDET communication standards
• Maintain communication boards and engage in every-other-weekend scheduling
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed

Required Experience & Skills

• Cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip administration
• BiPAP and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Tube feedings, NG tubes, and Dobhoff tubes
• Peripheral IV insertion
• Critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation

Procedures You'll Perform

• Peritoneal dialysis management
• Thoracentesis, paracentesis, and chest tube insertions
• Dobhoff and NG tube insertions
• Central line dressing changes
• Wound vac troubleshooting

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Black scrubs required
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
