RN - Oncology

Job Details:

• Work in an Ambulatory Oncology clinic supporting Melanoma, Sarcoma, and Head/Neck Thoracic Oncology departments
• Schedule consists of 5x8-hour shifts with some early or late shift flexing based on physician schedule
• Work closely with physicians and patients throughout the care process
• Previous experience in medical oncology is required; surgical oncology background is desired
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with professional nursing practice standards
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care including discharge planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed and non-licensed healthcare team members as appropriate
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and in a timely manner in the patient record
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently and may be required to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice
• BLS certification is required
• Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or acute care setting required
• Bachelor's degree and professional certification preferred
