Job Details:

• Provide occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for Activities of Daily Living (ADL), range of motion (ROM), strength, and functional assessments for both inpatients and outpatients
• Develop and implement written occupational therapy plans of care under physician referral
• Deliver direct patient treatment to prevent deterioration, develop skills, and restore function
• Perform diagnostic assessments and implement treatment plans across a diverse range of patient cases
• Provide services including group therapy, recreational programs, vocational therapy, creative arts, essential life skills training, massage therapy, gait training, and muscle retraining
• Design, fabricate, and fit orthotics and self-help devices as needed
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated comprehensive screenings and rehabilitative care programs
• Communicate with physicians and other staff members involved in patient care programs
• Maintain accurate and thorough treatment records and documentation of all services rendered
• Coordinate discharge follow-up with community agencies as needed
• Act as activities consultant for long-term care and hospital settings
• Conduct in-service training for hospital staff and contribute to staff education and professional development
• Supervise the use, maintenance, and care of tools and equipment used in the Occupational Therapy department
• May assume role of patient advocate in accordance with Patient Bill of Rights guidelines
• May be required to drive patients in hospital van when necessary
• Hawaii OT license required - must begin application process immediately
