About this role
Calais Community Hospital is seeking a Med/Surg RN to join the nursing team on the Medical-Surgical unit. You will work the night shift (3x12), coordinating patient care and collaborating with physicians, care team members, patients, and families to deliver individualized, quality care.
Your Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate members of the patient care team with a focus on individualized quality patient care
- Develop patient care plans in partnership with physicians, other care team members, patients, and patients' families
- Demonstrate professional nursing practice skills utilizing the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for all assigned patients
- Provide age-appropriate care across patient populations including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Promote teamwork with medical staff and personnel throughout the facility
- Adhere to hospital policies regarding confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and the Americans with Disabilities Act
Required Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS (BCLS) certification
- ACLS and PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
- Excellent assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills
- Ability to function independently
This 91-day travel assignment begins September 4, 2026. You will earn $2,242 per week working nights on the Med/Surg unit at a community hospital setting.
