Med Surg RN Job in Machias, ME

You will provide direct patient care as a registered nurse on the Med Surg unit at Down East Community Hospital in Machias, Maine. This is a day shift position running 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, working three 12-hour shifts per week for a 91-day contract starting September 28, 2026.

Your responsibilities include delivering safe, effective, and quality patient and family-centered care. You will perform thorough patient assessments, communicate clearly with your care team and patients, utilize the electronic health record system accurately, and maintain comprehensive documentation. You will function independently while remaining alert to emergency situations and ready to respond with efficiency and clinical judgment.

Your qualifications include:

• Current RN licensure
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare technology
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple patient needs
• Capability to act rapidly and effectively during emergencies
