CVOR RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Mission Hospital's Heart Tower in Asheville, NC. This is a backfill travel position for a 91-day contract starting October 12, 2026.

Role Overview

The CVOR unit operates 6 fully equipped operating rooms. Each case requires at least 1 scrub and 1 circulator. Pump cases also require a first assist or Heart Holder (RN or CST). The unit includes 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 PCA, and 1 Core Tech. You will have extensive expertise and experience in the RN Circulator role. Scrub and first assist experience is preferred but not required.

Procedures

The unit performs a wide range of cardiovascular and thoracic procedures including:

• CABG and Valve Replacement
• VAD Insertions and TAVR
• VATS and Lobectomy
• Pacemaker and AICD Insertions
• Septal Myectomy and Ross Procedure
• EVH, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, and Circulatory Arrest

Schedule and Staffing

You'll work 4x10-hour days, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at $3,070 weekly. On-call shifts will be assigned and rotated among staff. You may float to other units if needed, though this is infrequent. Hospital scrubs are provided, and you must follow the hospital's surgical attire policy.

Equipment and Systems

The unit uses Stryker equipment and Cerner for documentation.

Requirements

You must hold an active RN license and current BLS certification. This position is not open to first-time travelers. Extensive experience in the operating room setting is essential for this backfill role.
