Telemetry RN Job in Newton, Iowa

MercyOne Newton Medical Center is seeking an RN for their Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. You will provide direct patient care on a dedicated telemetry floor, monitoring cardiac rhythms and supporting patients through their recovery and treatment plans.

Position Details:

• Specialty: Medical Surgical Telemetry
• Shift: 3 nights per week, 12.5-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Assignment Duration: 90 days
• Start Date: September 14, 2026
• Weekly Pay: $2,242

You will work in a 12-bed to full-size telemetry unit where patient acuity ranges from stable post-operative patients to those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Your responsibilities include assessment, medication administration, wound care, patient education, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team. Night shifts offer a different pace than day operations, with opportunities to develop strong relationships with your colleagues and become familiar with your patient population across longer stretches.

Requirements:

• Current RN license (Iowa)
• Telemetry experience preferred
• BLS certification required
