CVOR Technologist Job in Corpus Christi, TX

You are a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with hands-on experience in cardiovascular and open-heart surgery. Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas is looking for you to join their cardiac surgery team for a 13-week travel assignment.

Role and Schedule

You will work as a scrub technician in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), providing 1:1 patient care during cardiac surgical procedures. Your primary schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4x10 days). You will also participate in a monthly call rotation of approximately 10–12 call days per month, including some Thursday coverage and weekend call responsibilities shared among team members. You must be able to meet the facility's call-back response time requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform scrub technician duties for open-heart and cardiovascular procedures, including Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), valve repair and replacement, TAVR procedures, aortic aneurysm repairs, vascular surgical procedures, and open-heart surgery
• Work independently in a high-acuity CVOR setting, maintaining competencies for cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Handle cardiovascular surgical instrumentation, heart-lung bypass equipment, endoscopic vein harvesting equipment, cell saver, surgical microscopes, and specialty cardiovascular equipment

Requirements

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Documented CVOR and open-heart surgery scrub experience
• Experience with cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
• Ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment
