CVOR Technologist Job in San Antonio, TX

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week contract assignment in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Operating Room (CVOR). You will work 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on a rotating weekend schedule with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Role and Responsibilities

• Serve as scrub technologist in CVOR with 3–4 patient assignments per shift
• Manage admission holds as assigned by the facility
• Float to other units as needed per facility floating policy
• Participate in on-call coverage
• Work with procedures including coronary artery bypass, surgical valve replacements, adult heart transplant, TAVR, pediatric hearts, thoracic/lung procedures, and ventricular assist devices

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) certification (Texas certified, no First Assist)
• Minimum 2+ years of hospital or specialty surgical experience
• Documented heart and cardiovascular transplant experience
• BLS certification
• Proficiency with Meditech documentation system

Preferred Skills

• Pediatric heart experience
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) experience
• Adult heart transplant expertise
• Cell Saver experience
• Peripheral vascular procedures

Facility Information

Methodist Hospital will provide scrubs. The facility maintains standard appearance standards: nails must be clean and healthy; hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; beards, mustaches, and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed; body art should be covered whenever possible; and visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,941. Assignment begins October 7, 2026.
