ICU Registered Nurse Job in Odessa, TX

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 4x12 night shifts, earning $2,799.36 per week.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU with patient ratios of 2–3:1
• Manage care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Float to Med-Surg or Telemetry if ICU census is low, with ratios up to 5–6:1
• Cover weekend shifts as required
• Work 36 or 48 hours per week as scheduled

Required Experience and Credentials

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Travel healthcare experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, TNCC or TCAR, NIHSS certifications
• 6 hours of Stroke education completed
• EKG course completion required
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system

Clinical Skills

• Arterial line management and blood gas interpretation
• BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management
• Central line care and blood product administration
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytic administration
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV insulin protocols
• Emergency medication administration
• Care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management
• Acute stroke and CVA management
• Traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury care
