ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract
• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required unless staffing dictates otherwise
• No on-call required
• Will float between ICU and Telemetry units
• Patient ratios: 2-3 patients for ICU and 1:4-5 for Telemetry (days, nights, and weekends)
• Unit has 12 rooms and 16 beds with a daily census of 9.5
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, sepsis, AKI, DKA, TIA/Stroke, arrhythmias, and overdose
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Missouri license or Compact license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, preferably in a Level 1 Center
• Meditech EMR experience strongly preferred
• Required skills include: Impella experience, balloon pump experience, stroke care, STEMI care, arterial line management, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of cardiac drips
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Unit scrub color: Navy Blue
• Block scheduling not guaranteed but manager will review; blocked schedules over weekends are more accommodating
