NICU Registered Nurse Job in Lafayette, IN

You will provide direct patient care to neonates in a 12-bed NICU unit with an average daily census of 8.5 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 6, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3x12 hour night shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Weekly pay: $2,194
• Charge pay available

Clinical Responsibilities

You will manage a 1:3 patient ratio across all shifts. Your scope includes neonatal abstinence syndrome, respiratory distress syndrome, seizure disorders, sepsis management, and thermoregulation. You will administer blood and blood products, manage arterial and central lines, perform blood draws, and maintain invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Respiratory support includes ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high-frequency ventilation, oscillators, Bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nitric oxide (INo), Vapotherm, and surfactants. You will provide feedings via bottle, breast, and gavage; place and manage oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes; manage chest tubes; administer IV vasopressors; interpret dysrhythmias; and provide developmental care and phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia.

Requirements and Experience

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, NRP Advanced, STABLE

Additional Details

Floating is required within the Pediatrics department and NICU, as well as to affiliate hospitals nearby. You will work alongside interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. Local Indiana residents are not eligible for this position.
