NICU RN Job in Lafayette, IN

IU Health Arnett Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 12-bed NICU unit in Lafayette, Indiana. This is a travel assignment for a neonatal intensive care nurse with 1.5 years of experience.

Position Details

• Shift: 4x12 nights
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: October 6, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,574
• Patient ratio: 3:1

Scheduling Requirements

• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Floating required within Pediatrics department and NICU

Unit Overview

The NICU maintains a 12-bed unit with an average daily census of 8.5. You will care for neonates at various acuity levels, from infants under 34 weeks to those requiring advanced respiratory support and monitoring.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• NRP
• NRP Advanced
• STABLE

Clinical Skills and Competencies

You will manage ventilator care (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high-frequency ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, and bubble CPAP. Additional skills include central line and arterial line management, IV vasopressor administration, therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, blood product administration, and gavage and breastfeeding support. You will perform neonatal dosage calculations, interpret dysrhythmias, monitor telemetry, and provide developmental care.

Interdisciplinary Support

You will collaborate with Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Interpretation Services, and Unit Secretaries to provide comprehensive care.

• Local candidates (Indiana residents) not eligible
• Minimum 1.5 years NICU experience required
