PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• 2 weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 6:1 on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit
• Tech support available on both day and night shifts
• Unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Document patient care using Meditech system
• Operate equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Contract labor is first to float by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
• Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
• Conduct bedside shift reports and include patients and family members in plan of care
• Required skills include Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Required certifications: BLS
• Active RN license required
• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required
