About this role
Samaritan Healthcare is seeking an RN for the Intensive Care Unit on the night shift. This 91-day assignment begins September 28, 2026, and offers $2,314 weekly.
Your Role
You will function as both caregiver and care manager, overseeing a group of patients throughout your shift. You'll perform comprehensive patient assessments focused on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status, then implement care in a knowledgeable and skillful manner consistent with departmental procedures, policies, and care plans.
Responsibilities include:
- Documenting patient information in electronic medical records and paper processes per regulatory requirements
- Identifying patient and family learning needs and delivering patient teaching as defined by policy
- Delegating patient care activities appropriately and supervising assigned coworkers
- Demonstrating competency on department-specific equipment
- Potentially functioning as Charge Nurse, including patient assignment delegation and unit coordination
Physical Requirements
You must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks—standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling—for 8 to 12 hours per shift. You'll also need physical strength to perform CPR and lift, push, or pull 60 to 300 pounds with assistance.
Qualifications
You must hold current Washington State RN licensure. A minimum of one year of RN experience is preferred for specialty nursing departments. The following certifications are required:
- BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider Level) within 30 days of hire
- ACLS (AHA) within 6 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
- PALS (AHA) within 12 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
- TNCC within 12 months of hire, renewed every 4 years
- PEARS (AHA) within 12 months of hire, renewed every 2 years
- Moderate sedation training within 12 months of hire and annually thereafter
RN-C certification is preferred. Total Joint Program requirements include 4 hours of orientation training and 4 hours of annual training. Up to 2 shifts per month or up to 6 shifts within any 13-week assignment may be cancelled.
