PCU Registered Nurse Job in Columbia, SC

Prisma Health Richland Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU), an intermediate intensive care setting caring for adult patients with trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology diagnoses. You will work the night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, with a patient ratio of 1:3.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients requiring monitoring or interventions every 1–2 hours
• Receive direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage telemetry
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients
• Titrate cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
• Operate specialized equipment including Hercules patient repositioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
• Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census and documented competencies
• Work within a self-scheduling unit environment with 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period

What You Need

• Active South Carolina or multistate nursing license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment; OR 3 years of specialty and critical care experience for first-time travelers
• Previous IICU/ICU experience with acuity of at least 1:3
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management
• Medication management and drip titration skills
