Med Surg RN Job in Denton, TX

You'll join Medical City Denton as a travel RN in the Medical Surgical unit for a 91-day assignment beginning September 21, 2026. This is a day shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

About the Role

You'll work on a 43-bed medical unit located on the 5th floor, caring for patients with a typical day shift ratio of 1:5–6 patients. Your day shift team includes 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 9–10 RNs, and 4 CNAs. You'll perform procedures related to any type of surgery, excluding cardiac and open neuro surgery cases.

Flexibility is built into this assignment. You may float to the medical unit or ER to provide med/surg hold nurse capabilities as needed. Rotating weekends are required, though self-scheduling is allowed within reason to maintain a balanced schedule.

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure
• Previous med/surg nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Meditech EMR experience (preferred)
• Ability to work as a willing team player
• Willingness to ask questions when unsure of processes

Compensation and Duration

You'll earn $1,651 per week for the full 91-day travel assignment. This position offers a straightforward contract with predictable day shift hours, making it ideal if you prefer a standard daytime schedule without overnight rotations.
