Pediatrics RN Job in Tucson, AZ

BUMC Tucson is seeking a registered nurse for a pediatrics position. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week, starting November 16, 2026, for an 89-week assignment. This role offers $2,300 weekly pay.

Your Role

You'll provide nursing care on the General Pediatrics unit with the understanding that you may float to other pediatric areas. These include PICU, NICU, and Pediatric Oncology for low-acuity patients, as well as Pediatric surge spaces in the ED or PACU when needed. You'll assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care in line with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. Your responsibilities include:

• Performing comprehensive assessments that address physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Formulating and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Delegating and supervising licensed nurses and other healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Documenting assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in patient records
• Providing evidence-based care and participating in unit or facility shared leadership activities

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification
• Minimum two years of recent acute hospital experience in pediatrics
• Demonstrated experience floating between units (required for all candidates, especially those without prior travel experience)
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred

Physical Requirements

You must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. You'll need to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and use standard precautions due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
