PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• No on-call requirements
• No floating to other floors
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA certifications required)
• Must be comfortable caring for patient age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• 16 hours of orientation provided
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal
• Skills required include: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, arterial line management, cardiac arrest/CPR, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, dysrhythmia recognition and management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, intubation, Phase I PACU and Phase II Recovery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and management of a wide range of surgical patient types including cardiac, neuro/spine, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, and general surgery cases
• Must be willing to serve on an Emergency Team as assigned by unit manager during emergency events, which may require remaining at the facility until the event passes or serving as part of a relief team
