Opportunity:

RN - MS/Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work on a medical/surgical stepdown unit that combines both MS and stepdown patient care
• Care for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients
• Monitor pre-transplant patients being evaluated for transplant during inpatient stay
• Provide close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Preceptor and charge experience preferred
• OR candidates will not be accepted for this position
• Assume responsibility for assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Interact with families regarding care plans and discharge procedures
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Work either MS or stepdown patients based on nursing availability and patient acuity
