PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-hour shift position in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Oklahoma City, OK. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning September 7, 2026, offering $2,386 weekly pay.

Role Overview

You will assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering skilled nursing care across a range of acuity levels. Your clinical background in Med/Surg and Stepdown experience will prepare you for the diverse patient populations you will serve in the PCU setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Monitor and communicate all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe manifestations, and intervene when clinically necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed according to protocol
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Deliver competent patient care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Interact with patients and families to communicate care plans during hospitalization and at discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and expectations
• Make appropriate referrals regarding patient care needs to relevant personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed and within scope

Requirements

You must hold a current RN license and have demonstrated experience in Med/Surg and Stepdown settings. Strong clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams are essential.
