PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position on a mixed medical/surgical and stepdown acute care surgical floor in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is a 12-hour shift role with an 89-day contract beginning September 7, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,386.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients
• Monitor and care for pre-transplant patients during inpatient evaluation stays
• Perform close patient monitoring for infection, rejection, and ensure timely medication delivery
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients on either medical/surgical or stepdown units based on staffing needs
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospital stay and at discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience
• Stepdown/PCU experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• ENT and/or transplant experience
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience
